About Us
T-Cat Fishing Charters operates out of Rhyll on Phillip Island, Victoria. We have recently acquired a second vessel to accomodate the extra numbers and larger group bookings. The new vessel Wontama is 10.6m long and with a beam of 3.8m she is extremely stable and comfortable to fish out of.
We have invested a lot of time and money to provide our customers with good seating arrangements, and hygenic toilet & wash facilities using the latest vacuum fresh water toilet.
The Wontama is in MSV survey for up to 18 passengers in sheltered waters and up to 17 passengers in open waters. She is powered by a V8 Caterpillar Diesel and holds 1,000L of fuel, giving her a safe and reliable power plant with a massive cruising range.
The T-Cat is a 6.6m long Devil Cat built in Tasmania for the adverse conditions that Bass Strait waters can produce. She has also had two new 150hp Evinrude E-Tec engines fitted, giving her a 70hp increase. The T-Cat remains the fastest fishing charter boat on the island.
The T-Cat is in MSV survey for up to 9 passengers in sheltered waters and up to 6 passengers in open waters.
T-Cat Fishing Charters can be tailored to your requirements either in shore waters of Westernport Bay fishing for Gummy Shark, Seven Gill Shark, Elephant Shark, Snapper, Whiting, Salmon, Flathead, Tailor and other species, or book an action packed fishing charter for Mako, Blue or Thresher sharks in the off shore waters of Bass Strait. We also offer Dolphin watching trips generally from February through April.
T-Cat Fishing Charter Packages can be arranged for overseas/interstate visitors with transport to and from the Island and accommodation to suit your needs.
T-Cat Fishing Charters will supply all rods, reels, baits, terminal tackle, and morning or afternoon tea. All fishing passengers will require a current Victorian fishing licence which can be obtained from Jim's Bait & Tackle at San Remo, Phillip Island Marine at Rhyll (opposite departure location) or at most Shell garages. (Licences: $5.50 48 hour, $11.00 monthly, $22.00 annually.)
