The Wontama is designed perfectly for large group bookings. At 10.6m long and a width of 3.8m she is a stable, comfortable and an ideal vessel from which to enjoy your fishing or sightseeing experience. It is licensed for up to 18 in sheltered waters, and up to 17 out in the open water. The Wontama also boasts excellent seating arrangements, with access to a hygienic toilet and wash facilities.

The T-Cat was designed in Tasmania specifically for the challenging conditions typical of Bass Strait waters. At 6.6m she has had a full refit this season, including two new 150hp E-Tec engines with a top speed of 45 knots. The T-Cat remains the fastest fishing charter boat on Phillip Island and is licensed for up to 9 passengers in sheltered waters and up to 6 in the open water. The T-Cat is also wheelchair accesible.

Pete is a caring family man who has been fishing for over 40 years and chartering 20 – 17 of these in Westernport Bay. Over these years, Pete has developed a loyal clientele who trust in his ability to consistently find the fish and share his extensive knowledge of the region and its flora and fauna.

Pete is passionate about providing a memorable and unique experience to all who board his boats and is a patient and attentive captain. His love of the natural beauty of the area is evident, and he is willing to pick up clients from a variety of locations to ensure all who wish to, can enjoy the wonder of the sea from either Wontama or T-Cat.

Westernport Bay is Victoria’s second largest bay and home to a wide variety of animals including Australian fur seals, whales and dolphins as well as seabirds and migratory waders.

Many species of fish are found in the waters of Westernport Bay, including; Snapper, Salmon, Flathead, Trevally, Gummy Sharks, Whiting, Leatherjackets, Mullets and Squid.

The bay is known best for its two closest islands; Phillip Island and French Island.

A fishing license is required for all Victorian recreational fishers.

Appropriate clothing, sunglasses, hats, and sun block are essential for a day out on the boats. Sun block is provided, however if you are allergic to regular sun block, please ensure to bring your own. A warm, waterproof jacket is also an essential item as the weather can be unpredictable.

In the case of changed weather conditions, the skipper has the final decision on the boat. If due to bad weather, or any other reason, the skipper reserves the right to end the charter.
